Greetings from
Abilene, a city located near the center of the great State of Texas!
The Abilene Fire Department was officially organized in 1886 by a handful of
residents who wished to address Abilene's fire protection needs. It served as a
city service as well as a social club creating a "family" made up of
firefighters, children, wives, and other citizens. Today, our department is
staffed by 171 civil service and 5 support personnel. The department has
changed a lot over the years, but we still have a family relationship among our
members that still work very hard to serve the 114,454 people living within
Abilene's 110.7 square miles.
Please
feel free to contact us
if you have any questions or comments. Thank you for visiting Your Abilene Fire
Department on the Internet. This site is updated weekly, so please visit us
often for new information and news about Your Abilene Fire Department.

The
Firehouse Chef

The
Firehouse Chef, hosted by John
Brunett will introduce you to a new
Firefighter each episode from your Abilene
Fire Department. In a fun paced format, you
will be able to meet your firefighters and
get a snapshot look into their unique lives.
You will get to see what’s happening
around the station and learn a lesson or two
about safety. You might even be witness to a
practical joke or hear about a crazy call
they have responded too and oh yeah, pick up
some great recipes. So join us each
Wednesday and Saturday at 1:00 PM and 6:30
PM on Sundays starting June 18th on Cable
Channel 7.
